Map page and picture of Potter Hill

I still need to sort my map page out as most of it is ripped off from Andrew. I need to incorporate it into my style pages with directions and pictures. I have got the location perfect though, even though it took hours and I did it before I went to Loughborough.

Seeing as Andrew is a phone geek and he bought a new phone last week he has given me his NEC 343i phone which has i-mode so I can pick up my email on it by having all mail on this machine forwarded on. Well handy. It’s also got a camera which isn’t stunning quality but I was able to take the below picture out the front bedroom window this morning.

Loads of photos on Flickr

I’ve just uploaded all the photos to Flickr that Andrew took during my stay in Loughborough, including one from a Wine Bar in Birmingham with a sign with incorrect spelling:

Back in Pickering

Back home just 10 minutes ago. Quite a speedy journey.

I can quite honestly say I didn’t enjoy my week away as nothing got done and the weather was crap. All the food was excellent though and seeing Caroline playing the carillon was good. Andrew firing up the pod people is also memorable, and was very funny. Hannah and Sarah were also both lovely.

The day in Birmingham

We got a taxi to the train station in Loughborough (who happened to be John’s wife, John being one of Andrew’s mates that I had met there on a previous visit) and got on the train to Leicester which didn’t take long. The weather was awful, rain all the time with a bitter wind. All the stations that we either stopped at or went through on the full journey were the same, except Hinckley where it was sunny.

We arrived in Birmingham and went for something to eat before Caroline went off for her audition thing. Andrew and I wandered around trying to dodge the rain as much as possible. We did have a good look at some of the buildings and canals before deciding to go for a drink where we were met an hour later by Caroline and Sarah, one of her friends.

We had another drink and then walked to Nandos where we had chicken ‘cos that’s all they serve. After more drink we headed back towards the train station and left Sarah to go back to her car. I took a few pictures before we split up as I hadn’t taken any all day. Back to Loughborough on the train where I nearly fell asleep and then a taxi home.

All in all a crap weather day but Birmingham was cool, the meal was excellent and Sarah was lovely. Bet she doesn’t stalk either.

I need a belt

For my trousers, that is. What with all the exercise recently and hardly eating before I came away I have lost quite a bit of weight and need something to keep my trousers up. I have been using one of Andrew’s but it’s too big even on the loosest notch. I’ll see what Birmingham has to offer.

The bells in Loughborough

We all went to see Caz play the bells at the tower this afternoon which was a very loud experience. I took my camera and quite a few pictures. The view from the top was excellent and shortly after taking four pictures of each direction it misted over so I was lucky.

Andrew has been preparing dinner ever since and it’s soon ready to eat. We did have a KFC earlier but I’ve been hungry all day even though I had three helpings of Andrew’s stunning curry last night.

We’re going to Birmingham tomorrow and will be having dinner there. Caz has some teaching thing on so Andrew and I can have a wander around. I just hope the weather is better as it’s been crap here all day.

Seven Friends on eBay

Which is seven more than what I’ve got. I fancied a copy of this ages ago and now is the perfect opportunity seeing as it is number 93 of 750 copies and is Thelema related.

Now on Flickr

Seeing as I now have a camera and photos I thought it a good idea to open a Flickr account, so have done so.

I’ll add to it when I’ve taken my roll of film to be developed and after I’ve got a scanner when I’ve got no dust in my house.
